Open Mic Night feat. Slam Poet George Watsky

Have a talent you want to express in form of a story, a poem, a song or performance? Then sign-up and showcase your skills at SUA’s Open Mic Night! Join SUA for a night of entertainment you get to participate in. The audience will vote on the top three performers, who will be awarded prizes of $75, $50 and $25. We offer refreshments and an open stage for students to share and express their abilities for the audience to see!

Open Mic Night will also feature slam poet George Watsky as our emcee! Watsky has showcased his talent as a lyricist by connecting with his audience through his silly, serious, complex and heartfelt words. A graduate of Emerson College with a B.A. in Writing and Acting for the Screen and Stage, Watsky has been featured on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” and been named a ‘Big Sound of 2011′ by daily music consumption website The Next Big Sound.
Open Mic Night will be held Tuesday, Sept 25 from 7-8 PM in Alderson Auditorium. Free admission.
Signup for this event has ended. We do still have a couple of performance slots, so interested artists should come to Alderson early to sign up there.
