Lawrence Ross: Blackballed Lecture

February 28 @ 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM

We are excited to announce our partnership with KU Student Involvement & Leadership Center in bringing Lawrence Ross to KU on February 28. Ross is the author of six books, and has lectured at over 600 colleges and universities across the country. His book, The Divine Nine: The History of African American Fraternities and Sororities, is a Los Angeles Times best seller.

We are extremely excited to announce our co-sponsors for this event: Emily Taylor Center for Women and Gender Equity , KU Student Affairs, KU Undergraduate Studies, KU Academic Achievement & Access Center, KU Office of Diversity and Equity, Black Faculty Staff Council, Office of Multicultural Affairs , Multicultural Student Government – The University of Kansas, KU MGC , KU National Pan-Hellenic Council . Thank you to all these organizations for making this event possible!

Ross’ lecture at KU will address racism on college campuses, from overtly racist parties to micro-aggression among friends. His book Blackballed: The Black and White Politics of Race on Americas Campuses was published in 2016 during a pivotal year in conversations on campuses.

A workshop with Ross will follow the lecture.
